IT has been the key driver of growth in
various verticals. It has influenced
manufacturing, trading, medicare,
education, e-governance and number of
other service sectors like finance and
insurance. The Government of
Uttarakhand has taken various policy
decisions to strengthen the IT sector and is
offering various incentives to those IT
enterprises who plan to set up production
or research hubs in the state. IT has
signed a MOU with Microsoft Corp for
jointly developing and deploying an
array of technology solutions for egovernance.
It plans to develop a state of
the art information technology park in
more than 60 acres in Dehradun with
intelligent buildings and a hi-tech habitat
centre. Uttaranchal Government has
also signed MOUs with Cisco Systems,
Intel Corporation and other leading
global major for augmenting the IT
infrastructure in the State. The
government has also introduced egovernance
systems in various
operational environments of public
interface and is expanding its usage in
other verticals as well. Prospective
